15. Online Consultation (“Quick Chat”) Terms
By booking a 15-minute online consultation (the “Quick Chat”), you agree to the following:
- Fee & Payment
The fee is CI$125 (or equivalent in US$152.44), payable in advance, and is earned upon receipt.
The fee is non-refundable, except that at the sole discretion of the attorney, it may be credited toward a future full consultation or retainer, provided a written agreement is executed within 7 days following the Quick Chat.
This arrangement is not intended as an advance deposit for ongoing work, but a standalone limited consultation fee. - Scope & No Ongoing Representation
The Quick Chat is for limited legal advice only (initial assessment, guidance, or triage).
It does not establish an ongoing attorney-client relationship beyond this session. Any further legal services require a separate formal engagement agreement.
No commitments or obligations beyond the limited session should be implied by the Quick Chat. - Confidentiality & Professional Obligations
Information you provide in the Quick Chat will be held confidential, in line with the Code of Conduct for Cayman Islands Attorneys (e.g. Rule 1.06 concerning confidentiality).
The attorney may only disclose your information as required by law or as permitted under Cayman law and the professional rules. - Ethical & Regulatory Compliance
This Quick Chat booking and the terms herein are intended to comply with the Legal Services Act, 2020 (Act 57 of 2020) and the Code of Conduct for Cayman Islands Attorneys, which govern fees, professional conduct, and supervision of attorneys.
The attorney maintains proper bookkeeping and distinguishes between client funds and his or her own funds as required by the Code of Conduct.
Any advertising or communications about this service must not be false, misleading or deceptive. - Conflict Checks & Limited Information
Before the Quick Chat, the attorney may perform a limited conflict-of-interest check based on the information you provide.
The advice given is based on the information disclosed; if material facts are omitted or inaccurate, the advice may not apply. - Acceptance & Binding Effect
By booking and paying, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
This governs the contract for the Quick Chat only; it does not obligate you (or the attorney) to further work unless and until a separate agreement is reached.
